Wednesday, March 8th: Dinner, Documentary, Discussion

5:00-7:00 pm

FREE DINNER & DISCUSSION

Join ELCA Assistant to the Presiding Bishop, Eric Wester; Dr. Jan Rippentrop; Chaplain Alexis Twito; and Dr. Jenny McBride for dinner, documentary, and discussion as we explore a unique way to be a Public Leader of the Church in diverse settings across the world.

Here’s what some leaders in the film have to say:

“What a chaplain does: is leans into the painful places.”

Karuna Thompson, Prison Chaplain.

“We felt that there was, like a wall between the police department and the Muslim community…”

Khalil Refai, Police Chaplain.

“So really as a chaplain, you’re out there.  You’re out there with them wherever they are.”

Paul Hurley, Army Chief of Chaplains.

“So I am the pastor for approximately 7000 people who make up the Senate side of Capitol Hill.”

Barry Black, Senate Chaplain.

Panel Discussion with Practicing Pastors, Teachers, and Chaplains will follow the Film.
